There are a lot of things happening right now, so I thought I'd do a quick blog about the latest news that caught my attention and I think might affect some of the ASX listed companies.
Dropsuite (ASX:DSE) announced new product
Dropsuite has introduced a public preview of its Entra ID Backup. Entra ID is just the new name for Azure Active Directory (AD). You don’t need to use cloud services in Azure to have Azure AD; if you're an Office 365 customer, you automatically get Entra ID.
Entra ID is basically Microsoft's identity backbone, used for authenticating all services. Anyone using any Microsoft cloud services or Office 365 automatically has Entra ID, so the total addressable market is huge. I’m not sure if anyone else is offering similar services.
I think this is a good strategic move by Dropsuite. Bundling its Office 365 backup with Entra ID could help it compete with Microsoft's native backup solutions for certain customers.

AI-enhanced call recording announcment at WWD 2024 ( Implication for Dubber (ASX:DUB)?)
There were lot of announcemnts in Apple’s WWDC 2024 however, one that caught my eyes was AI-enhanced call recordings on iPhone, right there on your default Phone app.
The option to record will soon be available on the live call screen alongside familiar buttons like "End" and "Mute."
This could have an impact on ASX listed call recording company Dubber (ASX:DUB)
Cisco Edge Connect partnership with Megaport (ASX:MP1)
https://blog.webex.com/cloud-calling/webex-suite-and-calling-cisco-live-us-2024/
Cisco and Megaport have extended their partnership by launching a new pay-as-you-go (PAYG) offer for Megaport's Virtual Edge, Virtual Cross Connects, and Ports. This new model, launched in Cisco Live June 2024, provides businesses with increased flexibility, scalability, and cost efficiency by only charging for the infrastructure resources they actually use. It signifies a shift from traditional static network infrastructure to a more dynamic and economical solution, streamlining the network management process. Both companies aim to provide a seamless single-vendor experience for customers, enabling quick and easy network infrastructure setup, connectivity to multiple cloud environments, and efficient data recovery systems.
